There are changes in the NATA eligibility criteria for 2020 as a result of the prevailing pandemic. The decision that the Minister of Education has taken will favor the candidates in following their dream to pursue B. Arch. NATA is a national level examination for seeking admission in B. Arch and there were some eligibility criteria till the last year. It is for this year, due to the resulting circumstances that there is a change in the eligibility criteria to make it convenient for the candidates.
The Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal, declared relaxation for NATA eligibility criteria for B.Arch admissions.
Candidates having passed class 12 with PCM subjects or 10th +3 yrs of diploma with mathematics can apply irrespective of their marks.
Candidates who fail to fulfill the NATA eligibility criteria for 2020 will not be eligible for B.Arch admission.
The candidates who have qualified the aptitude test in either NATA or JEE with pass percentage in 10+2 scheme of examination with PCM or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics are eligible for admission to B.Arch.
Course for the academic year 2020-2021 and the above relaxation is valid only for the academic year 2020-2021.
Candidates should check the eligibility criteria prior to applying for the NATA 2020 examination. Note that major state-level institutions will also use NATA 2020 scores for B.Arch admissions. Qualifying the NATA 2020 shall guarantee admissions to any Architecture course for the academic year of 20-21 with relaxation provided on the eligibility criteria.
As already mentioned, the criteria for eligibility have changed only for this year. Two eligibility criteria were considered until last year for admission in B. Arch.
- Passed with an aggregate of 50% in 10+2 with PCM as a subject
- Passed with at least 50% in 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
Note that the second round of examination is on 12th September 2020 and the result will be declared on 17th September 2020.
