Have you ever spent your weekend doing nothing?

If this has ever happened to you then you may surely have the regret of doing nothing on the following day. There’s no doubt that the weekends are to relax. But at the same time, one must just not be an idle veggie on the couch. The weekend is the time to relax, refresh, meditate, go around, get prepared, and plan certain things for next week. Here are some tips to make your weekend productive.

Take a good sleep:


Your body was active throughout the week. You have spent a lot of energy physically doing all the chores. The weekend is the time to give rest to your body. Sleep a little more than usual so that your body and mind can relax. Getting adequate sleep on weekend will re-charge your body and make it ready for the coming weekdays.

Prepare to-do list: The weekdays are the days you are busy with your studies. The weekend is the time for you to do all the things that cannot be done on weekdays. Plan your weekend for it. Check on the grocery and bring that is required if you are in a hostel. Visit your relatives or friends. See if any print outs or photocopy are required then get that completed. Groom yourself. Accomplish all that you have thought by the end of Sunday.

Nature walk

weekendWeekdays are busy enough to spend time with nature. Hence take some time off the phone and rejoice with nature. You may know or not but connecting with nature is like a therapy. It is relaxing and rejuvenating for the mind. Take a gasp of fresh air, let your lungs enjoy too.

Some ME time: It is important to have some ‘me’ time for everyone. Students spend most of their time reading and studying during weekdays. Therefore take some time off and enjoy some ‘me’ time during the weekend. Listen to your favorite music. Cook some good recipes for yourself. Apply a face mask. Some pedicures and manicures can be soothing too. Some sort of art if interests you then it can be a wonderful ‘me’ time. Do what you like and keep you relaxed.

Plan coming week: Planning is always advantageous. Plan your next week. Put your to-do list on the paper and try to follow as much as possible. Exchange of books from the library. Meeting a professor for clearing doubts or anything else. Prepare yourself for project submission if any. Preparing notes. Such small things when planned ahead can make your weekdays a lot easier to handle.

Schedule your time
