“College is the place where you live your life to the fullest.”

Universities and colleges always offer more than degrees and education. You are stepping into a new phase of your life and while you are here to get that degree, make that career, make sure that you make the most of this college life so that when you look back after few years, you have absolutely no regrets.

Every college offers extra-curricular activities, sports, college elections, and much more exciting activities that contribute to improving leadership, teamwork, and responsibility. This is where you will learn about practical knowledge and something extra other than usual books.

There is a lot of fun stuff too that is a frivolous and joyous experience. A fresher’s party is one of them as it serves as an introduction to new peers and mates. College life is that part of your life that you are going to relive in your memories your entire life.

Here are few pointers of what all you should participate in during those few years of college:

Sports and Fitness

Participating in sporting events and athletic conferences help students in maintaining fitness and health. These events aim to promote awareness about a healthy lifestyle whether in terms of diet, workouts or vital habits. You can even support your favorite player or team in the tournament.

There are endless possibilities of showing creativity in support of the teams. You can channel your creativity by making posters, flyers or t-shirts. Making impactful slogans and anthems is also an art that would help in encouraging sportsmanship and awareness.

Student Politics

Student politics has a significant role in extra-curricular knowledge about administration and ministry. This experience of making slogans for student parties, preparing banners, planning campaigns, giving speeches, participating in debates, and what-not shapes the student strategically and tactically. Politics is required in institutions but it is present everywhere to create great leaders instead of leaders foisted to make money or misuse power. Universities should promote this type of intellectual activity for the growth of students in every area.

The student union is autonomous, its internal life organized by its by-laws. The student unions are liable for all representation of the scholars and elect the scholar members of various administrative organs. They usually coordinate and finance the activities of smaller, more specialized student organizations.

Research Team

The student council can form research teams in the fields of chemistry, biology and other subjects. The research team would consist of students of similar interests and hobbies. Building skills like teamwork and communication will help students even after graduation. What we’ve learned in adopting this approach reflects a deeper appreciation of why certain details of faculty-student research matter the maximum amount as they are doing, also because of the significance of best practices in designing and managing effective teams. The student council should assign laboratories to the research teams for experimenting and gaining knowledge practically, this would encourage students to learn more than just what’s present in books and theory.

Universities can contribute more than just academic and theoretical knowledge that would help students after graduation through extra-curricular activities. Students should also take a similar initiative to spread awareness about practicality and extra-curricular activities.
